About Us

Our Mission

A patient’s health merits much more than just standard practice and prescription.

We believe that every patient should have access to the highest recommended therapies for their needs and that when patients are prescribed the best available therapies, they achieve the best clinical outcomes.

At CoveredMeds our mission is to enable clinicians to identify and prescribe the very best therapies available to their patients to ensure they get the best outcomes possible.

Our History

Our Beginning

Since its start in 2019, CoveredMeds has been committed to providing innovative help to clinicians. At first, the CoveredMeds platform only offered formulary determinations for 15 insurance plans and for only one indication, diabetes. In 2020 we added asthma and COPD and had grown to over 100 insurance formularies that we monitored and updated for our clients on a monthly basis.

In 2021 we invested in a data stream that brought us access to every insurance formulary in the country in real time allowing us to scale as we continued to grow.  We also completely redesigned our interface to utilize the data we were receiving and added four psychiatric indications, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and ADD/ADHD.

In 2022, we expanded from 7 indications and 350 drugs to over 40 indications and 4,000 drugs, now essentially offering the coverage determination for every indication, every medication, and every formulary.  We also added the ability to see step therapy and prior authorization requirements for medications enabling clinicians to know exactly what a restricted drug will require to get it covered, before they even decide to prescribe it.

Our Future

Our top two technical enhancements that we are working on are to have a true interface with EMR platforms that will auto select an indication and insurance plan for our users, and we will be developing a mobile app that delivers the same function, making it more accessible to individual licensees.

We also are working to multiply our growth and partner with other service providers in the 340B industry, large private healthcare companies, and individual clinicians. This all is to fulfill our mission of helping clinicians help patients.
